6. Bookings and Payments

6.1 Deposits

A deposit is required to confirm a booking. The deposit amount is typically 20% of the total service cost, with a minimum of £10. The deposit is paid upfront by the customer to secure their appointment and is held until the service is completed, at which point it is transferred to the provider. The remaining balance is paid by the customer directly to the provider. Deposits are non-refundable except where a cancellation occurs in accordance with the provider's cancellation policy.

6.2 Payment Processing

Payments are processed securely through third-party payment providers.

6.3 Platform Fees

Current Launch Period (Beta): AfriFind is currently operating with zero platform commission fees. Service providers receive 100% of all payments made by customers, including the deposit and the remaining balance.

Future Fee Structure: After the initial launch period, AfriFind will introduce a platform commission fee on bookings, expected to be between 12–15% of the total service cost. For example, on a £100 service, the platform fee would be £12–£15, deducted from the provider's earnings. This fee enables us to maintain and improve the platform, provide customer support, and ensure secure payment processing.

Notice Period: We will provide all users with at least 30 days advance notice before implementing any platform fees. Early providers who join during the beta launch period may be eligible for preferential commission rates as a thank you for their early support.

Grandfather Program: Providers who register and complete bookings during the launch period may receive discounted commission rates when fees are introduced.

6.4 Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellation policies are determined by individual providers. Deposits may be non-refundable depending on the timing and circumstances of cancellation. Disputes should be resolved directly between customers and providers, but AfriFind may assist in mediation.
